NOT RECOMMENDED Read More About the BCG Attorney Search Law Firm Ranking System

Negative feedback and personal experience have led us to not trust this firm.
Not Recommended law firms may have a history of complaints and negative reviews, possibly making them risky workplaces for associates and other employees. These firms may exhibit toxic work environments marked by a lack of coordination between departments and management, possible political strife, and different problematic dynamics. The management at Not Recommended firms may be unresponsive to concerns about human resources or political issues, leading to high employee dissatisfaction and, in some cases, negative experience. As a result, these firms may be considered undesirable choices for those seeking stable and fulfilling employment in the legal industry. Some law firms ranked Not Recommended or below are done so based on private information possessed by BCG Attorney Search. This information makes us nervous about recommending this firm to others until these issues are corrected.
We have been in this business for 25+ years, have spoken with countless attorneys from this firm, and believe that certain firms (most firms) err on the side of being more positive than negative places to work. There are also firms where the reports from attorneys are more negative than positive and have been for years. This does not mean every attorney has a negative experience at Not Recommended firms, every department is problematical, or every office is. Over time, cultural, management, and other issues result in an overall negative rating. We are careful about making these ratings only when confidential; ongoing adverse reports are confirmed by our experience with the firm and speaking with many attorneys there that seem consistently more negative than positive.

job.

McMichael & Gray is a law firm that many attorneys and other staff members have worked for. Reviews of the firm are generally positive, with people reporting that there is great pay, room to grow in the company, and staff that is fun to work with. Employees are very helpful to one another in a team-like environment, and there is even catered lunch during busy days. Some employees have also reported free lunch and all federal holidays off.

However, there are a few downsides that have been noted by some employees. Communication, accountability, and acknowledgement from management is sometimes lacking, and there is a lot of turnover in the company. Additionally, there are different policies in different offices, and some employees have noted that they lack training or ongoing support from management.

Overall, McMichael & Gray is a great place to work for many employees. While it is not without its downsides, most employees report that the staff is overall supportive and the pay is great. The company is an amazing place to work with a lot of support, and it offers employees the chance to grow and develop in their roles.

"Unfair Work Environment with Long Hours and No Raises" - Anonymous

Cons: This law firm is not an ideal workplace. The wages are not competitive, and employees can go years without receiving a raise or cost of living adjustment. At the end of each month, it's common to be expected to work late into the night, sometimes until 10 or 12 midnight, without receiving any overtime pay or compensation for the extra hours. The attorneys here seem to prioritize their own interests over their employees'. There's a high turnover rate, which speaks volumes about the work environment. If you're considering employment here, think twice. The lack of appreciation and recognition, combined with long hours and no raises, makes it a challenging place to work.

Cons: Horrible company with horrible managementPre-Closer (Former Employee) - Destin, FL - November 18, 2022Was great in the beginning but then they tried to change to their ways in a different market. The isolated employees, showed favoritism and lied about the reasons they let people go. Stay away from this company.Jay Fulmer DVM7 reviewsa year agoI just sold my house yesterday with this firm handling the closing. If given the choice (which we did not have a choice here), I would never choose them for a closing or for any other legal matters. I was told that the proceeds from my house sale would be wired and that I should receive them by noon today. Multiple phone calls and insisting on finally speaking with someone who could give me an answer finally led to someone telling me that the person responsible for wiring the money had to ""leave unexpectedly"", so the wire was never sent through. She was sending the wire through ""on a rush basis"" and I should expect the funds by the end of today. Well, I'm still waiting on the funds and we are now beginning a long holiday weekend. I don't know if there is fraudulent behavior, theft, or just incompetence, but they are holding a large amount of my money and I have no way of contacting anyone until likely Tuesday with the holiday weekend. This is a very unprofessional and unresponsive law firm.Top EatsLocal Guide · 61 reviews2 years agoI will never have a closing here ever again. It took a week for them to "overnight" my check. No response for days via email. No calls back to check in after closing regarding my commission check. In addition, they sent my check a week later to the wrong agent at a completely different brokerage. How could you possibly get that wrong after several emails stating the address and after speaking to someone at the front desk multiple times!
