Clients of her solo practice have the benefit of her 33 years spent in two large law firms with nationally recognized health law and tax practices. She represents health organizations in tax, transactional and regulatory matters and tax-exempt and represents nonprofit organizations of all types in tax, corporate and governance matters. Elizabeth understands the wide range of legal issues presented in today's complex regulatory environment and helps clients balance often conflicting pressures to achieve a solution that is consistent with the client's priorities and needs as well as with the law.
Elizabeth works with a wide variety of health organizations, including: hospitals and health systems; academic medical centers, medical schools, and faculty practice plans; health maintenance organizations; physician group practices; and senior living organizations. She advises them on transactions, corporate structures, tax issues, physician employment matters and the corporate practice of medicine, employment taxes, and regulatory matters such as: the federal physician self-referral (Stark) and anti-kickback laws; and rules related to Medicare medical education payments.
