Diana DiBerardino and Meghan McGovern founded DMIP Group in 2012. After advancing their careers in a large, well-established intellectual property firm, both women wanted to get back to what they loved: writing patent applications and representing clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). DMIP Group gives them that and more. Now they have the opportunity for closer relationships with clients, higher efficiency, and an ability to focus on what matters-helping you protect your inventions.
Diana and Meghan first met while working as patent attorneys at Fish & Richardson when they hit it off. In 2009, Diana left to start her solo practice, but they continued to keep in touch. As the practice grew, Diana needed a partner and she knew there was only one person she would want, Meghan. After meeting at a local coffee shop and realizing they both had similar ideals, DMIP Group was formed. They agreed to structure it as a non-traditional, forward-thinking virtual law practice that focuses exclusively on patents. Now these patent partners have the autonomy they craved while being able to do what they loved from the comfort of their virtual offices. As they say, the rest is history.
As a successful, woman-owned, and virtually located Intellectual Property law firm, DMIP Group serves domestic and international clients that produce sophisticated technology. DMIP Group is inspired by Metis-the Greek goddess of wisdom, deep thought, and wise counsel-which they apply to their patent preparation, prosecution, and intellectual property counseling. DMIP Group provides highly personalized and collaborative legal services that are difficult to find anywhere else.
