Ms. Bornn began her law practice at Levine, Krom & Unger after graduating from Whittier College School of Law. At Levine, Krom & Unger, Ms. Bornn was tasked with handling the firm's complex business litigation and representing employers in employment disputes. In 1984, Ms. Bornn started her own firm, Nancy Bornn A Law Corporation, where she continues to practice today. In 2000, Ms. Bornn and attorney Curt Surls formed the Bornn & Surls law firm as the dba for the corporation. The Bornn & Surls firm primarily represented employees in mediations, litigation and arbitration, while counseling employers in compliance matters. Starting in 2007, Ms. Bornn began to focus on neutral-oriented work, including mediating cases for parties, conducting workplace investigations, testifying as an expert witness, and teaching anti-harassment training. Between 2007 and 2012, Ms. Bornn's neutral work grew and the Bornn & Surls firm dissolved. Since 2009, Ms. Bornn has focused her practice on solely neutral work. She testifies as an expert witness in employment matters, conducts independent workplace investigations, and provides one-on-one counseling and training to executives, management and supervisors.
