SHANA FRIED, FOUNDER & PRINCIPALShana has 20+ years experience working within the entertainment industry, first as musician and DJ, artist manager, indie film producer, and event producer, and in the last decade as an entertainment attorney and co-owner of an indie record label.She received her Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2007 and worked as associate, then partner from 2008-2010 at Martinez Law, a film and entertainment firm in New York and Los Angeles. In 2010, she and a colleague formed Higgins + Fried in DUMBO, Brooklyn and reintroduced the firm on her own in 2014 as The Fried Firm.That same year she formed Feel Up Records with Trinidadian producer and DJ, Jillionaire.In 2017, Shana orchestrated the launch of The Fried Firm?s Los Angeles office.Hailing from Northern California, Shana has a laid back approach accented by a New York City hustle that has been cultivated over her last 15 years as a resident. Shana also holds a degree in music business from Northeastern University, is enamored with history, and well-versed in the NYC nightlife scene.
Shana is admitted in New York State, and the Southern and Eastern Districts.

RAPHAEL COLA, LAW CLERK
Raphael joined The Fried Firm in May 2018 as a law clerk. Before pursuing a Juris Doctor at Brooklyn Law School, Raphael received a B.A. in Law and Economics and a Master?s Degree in Business Law from Paris Nanterre University. When not attending law school or at the firm, Raphael bikes across the city to find the finest jazz New York has to offer.

Turner brings her prior experience in international relations, banking, and artistic endeavors in providing clients with creative solutions, whether it be a strong strategy in litigation or in developing strong protections for their businesses. Rita has extensive experience litigating complex contractual disputes, intellectual property infringement matters, and First Amendment Claims related to privacy and defamation. She also counsels clients on the prosecution, licensing, and protection of their intellectual property. Representative clients include national retail and fashion companies, television stations, musicians, and entrepreneurs.
Rita attended Rutgers School of Law ? Newark where she was editor of the Law Review and member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team. Prior to her legal career, Rita was a professional choreographer and dancer in New York City and Tokyo after having studied ballet and modern at the University of South Florida and butoh under its founder Tatsumi Hijikata. She is a member of the New York City Bar Association?s Fashion Law Committee and is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the Southern District of New York.Randolph Miller-Taylor is a lawyer and musician based in Los Angeles, CA. He is a graduate from both the University of Miami School of Law and the University of Miami Frost School of Music, where he received his Juris Doctor and a Master?s in Music Business and Entertainment Industries. Before pursuing his legal/graduate studies, he received his Bachelor?s degree in Music with an emphasis in Jazz trombone performance.
Outside of practicing law, Randolph enjoys writing, producing, and playing trombone in a number of musical ensembles. As an attorney with a creative background, he uses his knowledge and skills as well as his understanding of the creative process to help realize the dreams of his artistic colleagues.
Randolph is licensed to practice law in Florida and California.
