Helen C. Shreves founded her mediation practice in 1995 after having litigated family law cases since 1978. She, therefore, brings a highly unique background and experience to the mediation practice. Helen had achieved prominence in the family law field, serving on many Colorado Bar Association committees and on the Family Law Section of the CBA. For many years, she compiled a summary of family law appeals cases which she presented to family law lawyers to keep them apprised of new developments in the law.
Helen offers mediation and arbitration meetings as part of her practice. Mediation is a consensual, confidential process, whereas arbitration is a binding process wherein the arbitrator imposes a final Arbitration Award on the parties.
Helen can mediate or arbitrate all issues of divorce, including parenting plans, property division, child support, maintenance, and post-decree issues. Julie Wells, who has a paralegal background, has worked with Helen as her assistant and scheduler since 2005. She offers a highly competent service to the attorneys and parties who contact Helen.
