Gerald O. Williams has devoted himself exclusively to the practice of divorce and family law in Minnesota since 1993. Gerald is both an experienced litigator and mediator, who handles all types of family law. Clients come to us for many types of cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, parenting time, alimony, paternity, grandparents' rights, third party custody, LGBTQIA+ family law matters, collaborative law, mediation, and early neutral evaluations. Gerald has extensive experience as an international custody attorney and an international divorce attorney, having worked with clients in 37 countries and on 6 continents. Additionally, he is very experienced in interstate custody and interstate divorce.

Avocationally, you will occasionally see Gerald on stage with community theatre or more frequently behind the scenes as a music director. He is active in church, and over the years has been found at the piano, singing in the choir, on a mission trip, or directing youth choirs, plays, and musicals. He loves all things tennis - playing, watching, and keeping his own tennis stats.

Gerald is active in the legal community. He is a fellow and a long time past board member of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is the family law columnist for the MN Association for Justice Magazine, and formerly served as an ethics investigator for the Hennepin County Ethics Committee. He maintains the Minnesota Divorce and Family Law Blog, which we believe was the first family law blog in the state of Minnesota. Gerald writes all the content for our blog, so you will find unique original material you will not find anywhere else.
