In 1979, among the legal profession's myriad of possibilities, Reeves W. Mahoney found his calling in family law. Mr. Mahoney's drive and passion for representing people during what can be one of the worst times of their lives define M&R Law's ethos: providing clients compassionate, trustworthy, and intelligent representation so they can make smart decisions during sensitive times. It was with these tenets in mind that Mr. Mahoney with Attorneys Shantell S. Nashatka and Andrew T. Richmond opened a boutique family law practice in Virginia Beach's Town Center in January 2016. The three had worked together in the Domestic Relations Department of Poole Mahoney, PC, beforehand. The firm, at first, dealt solely with domestic relations issues, including all forms of divorce, custody, visitation, spousal and child support, premarital agreements, and adoption. In May 2018, the firm added wills, trusts, estates, business and elder law to redefine family law and its offerings ? to assist people from cradle to grave during life's journey. After Ms. Nashatka opened her own practice in March 2019, the firm was renamed to Mahoney & Richmond, PLLC.
