Otten Law, PC's principal and the attorneys employed by the firm have achieved significant success in their legal careers. Recently, Mr. Otten and co-counsel Don Kilmer won the case Silvester v. Harris, 41 F. Supp. 3d 927, 2014. The court found that the 10-day waiting period law governing the purchase of a firearm violated the Second Amendment as applied to certain people. Mr. Otten and his former law partner, Brigid Joyce, obtained a published appellate opinion in the case Michel v. Palos Verdes Network Group, Inc. (2007) 156 Cal.App.4th 756 which addressed disclosures in the real estate context. This case has been cited by numerous legal treatises and has resulted in two new California jury instructions based off its holding.
