Bohne Law Group (BLG) was founded by Douglas Bohne in 1991. His work experience began in 1983 at the San Francisco tax department of the then "Big 8" accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. Doug has been practicing law in Contra Costa County since 1987 when he helped form a law partnership in Walnut Creek, California.



We are a small firm of eight and growing; currently composed of four attorneys, three paraprofessionals, and administrative staff. We focus on the legal needs of your family, both large and small, in planning and executing strategies to preserve, protect, and pass on not only your assets but also your philosophical legacies.

Our Apporach to Clients

We approach each client with the same philosophy - as you distribute your estate, what values do you want to pass on to your beneficiaries? Questions generally revolve around what principles and characteristics you believe lead to self-reliance and success. Then we want to know if you feel those same standards and lessons have been learned by the next generation. Our ultimate goal is to create strategies and plans that will compliment and support the family legacy you want to enhance and maintain.



In general, our client's goals are to assure that they are taken care of and that family dynamics are enhanced after they have passed on, with a minimization, if not elimination, of the tax consequences of their estate.



Each strategy focuses on "TLC." Not only do we plan for your estate with tender loving care, but we additionally focus on the other TLC; Taxes, Liability, and Control over your estate while alive and upon death.
