Tope-McKay & Associates is a Malibu, CA-based intellectual property prosecution firm founded in 1996. Since its foundation, Tope-McKay & Associates has focused on the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications, both domestically and in foreign jurisdictions.

We specializes in the mechanical, electronic, software, and chemical arts, assisting inventors in a variety of technical areas, ranging from very simple, incrementally developing technologies, to highly-complex, breakthrough technologies.

In addition to assisting clients with patent and trademark prosecution, we are also experienced in related areas, including licensing, entity formation, and business planning/strategy.

We have worked with inventors in a variety of settings over the last eight years.In addition, we are also highly experienced in the areas of trademarks and copyrights, and have assisted clients in obtaining well over 1,000 trademarks as well as numerous copyrights.
