Lano Williams is a creative-thinking attorney specializing in startup and entertainment law. He helps entrepreneurs succeed in their business ventures, with a focus on the entertainment and arts industries. He is a valuable asset for startup companies requiring expert assistance with business assessment and formation, bylaws, operating agreements, investor and shareholder consensus building, and small securities offerings. His area of expertise in entertainment law includes handling transactions throughout the entire life cycle of an entertainment property, from development to production to exploitation and distribution. Lano?s types of clients in entertainment range from service as outside general counsel to a full-service entertainment company to negotiating and structuring agreements for independent entertainment professionals on an as needed basis.

In his current role as Principal of the firm, Lano serves as the managing attorney, responsible for all firm operations. As the founder of KarolWilliams PC, Lano?s management of the firm has given him an excellent grounding and understanding business startups from the inside out.

Lano holds a JD in from Loyola Law School at Loyola Marymount University (LLS) in Los Angeles, CA, with a focus on tax law and intellectual property law. Subsequently he attained a Masters in Tax Law from LLS. Prior to law school, Lano received an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX, with a focus on marketing and strategy concurrently with an MA in Arts Administration and Entrepreneurship from the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU. While at SMU, Lano studied abroad in Milan, Italy, at Universit? Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. Lano holds an AB in Economics from Harvard University.

Lano has held positions with multiple non-profits including the Harvard Gay & Lesbian Caucus Inc (the LGBT Harvard Alumni Group), Harvardwood (the Harvard Alumni Group for Entertainment Professionals) and the LA Stage Alliance (the service organization for theater companies in the Los Angeles area).
