We specialize in insurance defense. Our expertise includes investigation, evaluation and litigation of claims having complex issues of liability and damages. Founding partners Eve Korff and Tod Castronovo were the original authors of a chapter in the Continuing Education of the Bar treatise, Uninsured Motorist Practice, entitled, "Defense Handling of Uninsured Motorist Claims" and Tod Castronovo continues to be a regular contributor to annual updates to the treatise. Ms. Korff has authored or co-authored a number of articles/publications, including The Law and the Mental Health System, 'Dubious Diagnoses' and 'Uninsured Motorist Claims and Fraud: How To Tame a Volatile Mix' in Claims Magazine, and articles on fibromyalgia and accident reconstruction analysis in litigation in Journal of Controversial Medical Claims. We have provided coverage advice and opinions to insurance companies for over 30 years, as well as review and analysis of claims files for potential bad faith issues and exposure and litigation of declaratory relief actions in both state and federal court.

In the area of SIU and Fraud, the firm has been successful in identifying and defeating these types of claims, arising in every area of the law, including fire and casualty claims, first and third party auto accidents, and minimal impact cases, and has assisted the NICB, the Los Angeles and Ventura County District Attorneys' offices to prosecute the offenders. Our involvement in premises liability has focused on defense of homeowners and business owners in any set of circumstances.
