After graduation in 2001, Jay clerked for the Honorable Anthony A. Alaimo in United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia before going on to become a partner at Gilbert, Harrell, Sumerford, & Martin P.C. in Brunswick, Georgia. Jason, on the other hand, began his career working in the Atlanta office of a large regional law firm before being appointed as an Assistant United States Attorney with the Department of Justice assigned to the Organized Drug Enforcement Task Force ("OCEDFT") in the Southern District of Georgia and then returning to private practice with Gilbert, Harrell, Sumerford, & Martin P.C. Laura worked at the Brunswick law firm of Brown, Readdick, Bumgartner, Carter, Strickland and Watkins, LLC for ten years practicing and successfully trying cases and securing judgments for her clients in a variety of areas including insurance defense, torts, employment law, civil rights, contract disputes and environmental litigation. Laura was named as one of Georgia's Legal Elite in the area of Family Law by Georgia Trend Magazine for 2012. Jay was named as a Super Lawyer in 2009-2011 and 2014-2016, as was Jason in 2010 - 2015. In addition, Jay and Jason are both "AV" rated as "Preeminent", the highest legal rating available from the leading legal rating service, Martindale Hubbell.
