Graham IP Law features the work of Mark S. Graham, a thirty-year veteran Intellectual Property ("IP") practitioner. An Honors graduate from the University of Tennessee, Mark holds degrees in Law, Business and Chemical Engineering from UT. Mark is a USPTO-Registered Patent Lawyer, admitted to the Bar of USPTO Practitioners since 1986. He was admitted to the Bar of the State of Tennessee in 1985. Mark also maintains admissions before many federal district and appellate courts across the US, including the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Mark's technical background and his extensive patent prosecution experience enable him to effectively draft, prosecute, defend, and enforce patents for clients across a remarkably broad range of technologies. He handles cases in the chemical, pharmaceutical, life sciences/biotech, material science, mechanical, environmental, computer, paper/film, polymer/coatings, and medical device/dental arts, to name a few. Recent work focuses on drafting, prosecuting, and enforcing patents directed to pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology involving graphene and other carbonaceous particles and composite structures incorporating the same, ceramics and superconducting materials, biopolymer, polyelectrolyte and other multi-layer polymer films and composites, wood pulp and wood product processing and use, paper and paperboard production, protein chemistry, and drug synthesis.

Over the years, Mark has also worked diligently with clients to help develop, federally register, and protect hundreds of distinctive trademarks and copyrights. He helps clients register, license, monetize, protect, and defend the use of musical, video, television, theatrical, textual, sculptural, artistic, computer, and other works and properties over a wide and diverse variety of genres and fields of endeavor. And he provides IP due diligence opinions and IP counsel services to clients along with IP valuation, audits and assistance with IP licensing and IP aspects of transactional and M&A matters.

Mr. Graham is regarded as a highly effective litigator in the courtroom in IP disputes. He has successfully handled scores? of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigations in many courts across the country and overseas, both at the trial and appellate levels. Mark has consistently prevailed for his clients in multiple ex parte and inter partes patent/trademark matters before administrative tribunals in the USPTO and overseas.
