The National Elder Law Foundation (NELF) is the only national organization certifying practitioners of elder and special needs law. CELAs have indicated substantial involvement in elder law and/or special needs practice by demonstrating a minimum number of individual cases across various elder law categories. CELAs have focused at least half of their practice in the elder law/special needs field and passed a required comprehensive examination. CELAs have also undergone a review by peers and colleagues focused on the attorney's reputation for ethical and competent representation in elder law and special needs planning matters.??
