Eric Perkins has been practicing business and nonprofit law in Richmond, Virginia since 1996. Born and raised in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was valedictorian of the Bluefield High School Class of 1989. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia in 1993 with a B.A. in Economics and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1996.
Eric has assisted entrepreneurs in structuring and forming hundreds of business entities. In addition, he advises business owners and executives on franchising matters, corporate governance, noncompete, and other contract and compliance issues, works regularly with nonprofit organizations on a variety of corporate, tax, and compliance issues, and has represented a unique group of clients in the sports entertainment field.
Eric has helped real estate sponsors raise over $1 billion in Regulation D private offerings, including tenants-in-common (TICs), Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs), real estate investment trusts (REITs), syndicated limited liability companies, real estate opportunity funds, and promissory note offerings. Eric is a frequent author and lecturer on a variety of business, nonprofit, and securities law topics. He is a co-author of the Virginia CLE handbook ?Contract Law in Virginia? as well as ?Richmond ? One of America?s Best Tennis Towns,? chronicling over 100 years of tennis history in Richmond. He is also the author of ?The Essential Legal Guide for the Professional Wrestler.?
