About Two Rivers Law Group P.C

The attorneys of Two Rivers Law Group, P.C. have proudly defended employers and workers' compensation carriers in workers' compensation claims in Virginia since 1975 and more recently in Washington D.C.

Two Rivers' Shareholders established the Firm in December 2009 ? comprising, in doing so, the entire practice of the former workers' compensation practice group of Sands Anderson.

Though a young firm, Two Rivers' lawyers are not new to their practices and cover all of Virginia and the District of Columbia from the firm's Richmond and Christiansburg offices. The attorneys of Two Rivers, together, bring more than 210 years of experience to their defense of clients before the Workers' Compensation Commission. Several of the firm's lawyers also have extensive experience in Virginia's trial courts in insurance coverage and other civil cases.

The firm's senior shareholders have received regional and national recognition as accomplished practitioners in their fields. In the Richmond Office, Mary Louise Kramer has devoted herself to workers' compensation defense since 1975 and has been named in The Best Lawyers in America and has been listed among the Virginia Super Lawyers in workers' compensation since 2007. Mary Louise has the highest rating (AV? Preeminent?) from the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings system.

Cecil Creasey, practicing since 1983, has extensive experience before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission. He was named among the Virginia Business Legal Elite for his Regulatory/Administrative practice. Cecil also serves on appointment from the Supreme Court of Virginia as a special state administrative hearing officer for agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Cecil has the highest rating (AV? Preeminent?) from the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings system.

Stephen Marshall, practicing since 2004, has represented employers before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission and the District of Columbia Office of Workers' Compensation. Stephen frequently travels to our Firm's clients to assist in training adjusters on Virginia Workers' Compensation Rules. Stephen has the highest rating (AV? Preeminent?) from the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings system.

In the Christiansburg Office, Sarah Himmel, in practice since 1987, handles a wide array of workers' compensation claims, however, she has particular expertise in handling black lung claims, defending employers before both the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor/Office of Workers' Compensation Programs, handling cases before the Administrative Law Judges and appeals to the Benefits Review Board.

Finally, Mike Goff, in practice since 2001, maintains a full docket of workers' compensation claims. He has developed extensive experience with many physicians and specialists throughout southwest and central Virginia and provides frequent recommendations for evaluations or panels to the Firm's clients. He happily assists employers and carriers with in-house seminars and file reviews. He too is active in various Southwest Virginia bar associations.
