Montroll, Backus & Oettinger, P.C., was founded in 2013 when longtime friends, Andy Montroll and Rob Backus, joined practices to use their experience and expertise to provide high-quality legal services to a broad clientele. Their partnership was founded on high regard for each other's legal skills, which started when they met in 1997 while serving on the Burlington City Council. By 2013, Andy and Rob found that their legal paths made it possible to form this new and exciting partnership. In February 2014, Michelle Mraz was hired to manage the expanding business. In July 2014, Mark Oettinger joined the firm as attorney of counsel, and was then welcomed as a partner in January 2016. As of July 1, 2016, L. Randolph Amis is our attorney of counsel. At the beginning of 2018 the firm welcomed our senior associate, Evan Barquist.
