In 1947 W. Gibbs McKenney began a law practice largely concentrating on sophisticated estate and business planning. In 1963 George E. Thomsen joined Gibbs McKenney to form McKenney and Thomsen and in 1966 Paul E. Burke, Jr. joined them to create McKenney, Thomsen and Burke. Over the years McKenney, Thomsen and Burke LLP became known as a premier estate planning boutique. In 1978 Hedley A. Clark joined the practice working closely with Gibbs McKenney and George Thomsen. In 1996 Robin Hough joined the firm to work with Paul Burke. When George Thomsen retired in 2009, Hacky and Robin spun off from Thomsen and Burke LLP, taking the estate planning, estate administration and trust administration practice with them where it continues as Clark & Hough LLC.
