Ken Barish has concentrated his practice in the field of civil and criminal tax litigation and controversy matters. His representation of tax clients is extensive and varied at all levels. He has tried a number of high publicity civil and criminal tax matters in the federal and state courts. This includes representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service, California Franchise Tax Board, California Employment Development Department and California State Board of Equalization. His clients have included high profile individuals in the entertainment, sports, and business worlds.
He gained his original expertise as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division, Criminal Section and an Assistant United States Attorney in the Central District of California, Tax Division. He also has more than 35 years of experience representing private clients in tax controversy matters. Ken was until recently a principal in the internationally recognized tax controversy law firm of Kajan Mather and Barish.
