Duties:

  • Legal Research & Case Strategy:

    • Perform thorough legal research using platforms like Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy.
    • Analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to build effective legal strategies.
  • Document Drafting & Negotiation:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, settlement agreements, and covenants.
    • Ensure all documents comply with relevant legal standards and regulations.
  • Court Representation:

    • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, and negotiations.
    • Handle a variety of legal matters including civil litigation and creditor collection cases.
  • Client Interaction & Case Management:

    • Provide ongoing legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring their rights are protected and legal requirements are met.
    • Maintain detailed and accurate records of client interactions, case progress, and legal documentation.
    • Participate in client meetings, offering legal counsel and strategy.
  • Collaboration & Independent Work:

    • Work closely with senior attorneys on more complex cases while also managing an independent caseload.
    • Build and develop your own practice area while supporting the firm’s broader goals.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Experience:
    • Experience or coursework in areas such as creditor rights, collections, real estate law, or community association law is preferred but not required.
    • Experience in courtroom litigation is highly valued.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw.
    • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with an ability to strategize effectively for clients.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff while managing individual responsibilities.
    • Ability to conduct and manage client meetings effectively.
  • Licensing:
    • Admission to the Georgia Bar (Required).
    • Must be able to relocate or commute to Hiram, GA.
