Job Overview:

A law firm based in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Antitrust Counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in handling antitrust merger-related investigations and litigation. The role requires stellar academic credentials and comparable law firm experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in antitrust investigations and litigation, particularly related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Develop and execute strategies for complex antitrust cases.
  • Provide legal advice on antitrust compliance, regulatory matters, and risk management.
  • Analyze market dynamics and competition issues affecting clients.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including briefs, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant antitrust laws and regulations.
  • Manage client relationships and provide strategic legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm on multidisciplinary matters.
  • Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and strategy sessions.

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of experience in antitrust law, particularly with merger-related investigations and litigation.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex antitrust cases and client matters.
  • Stellar academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
  • Proven track record with a comparable law firm or in a similar role.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington, DC.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of antitrust laws and regulations, including the Clayton Act and Sherman Act.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute litigation strategies.
  • Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
