A law firm seeks an experienced, full-time Associate Attorney for its Yorktown, VA office. The firm emphasizes a healthy work/life balance while providing high-quality services to clients. The ideal candidate will be engaged in various areas of law and be given the autonomy to manage their caseload, working with paralegals and other staff. This full-time position has a dynamic, supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and client relationship-building.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload in the following areas of law:
    • Estate Planning
    • Estate and Trust Administration / Probate
    • Asset Protection / Medicaid
    • Guardianships and Conservatorships for adults
    • Fiduciary Services
  • Independently handle cases after an initial training period.
  • Set and manage own schedule, meet with clients, and make client selections.
  • Supervise paralegals and staff to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships to secure new business and retain existing clients.
  • Engage in business development through networking, community outreach, and other client acquisition methods.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Virginia State Bar, or expected to sit for the bar exam in 2025.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and exercise sound legal judgment.
  • Interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients and staff, and effectively manage client matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Virginia State Bar (preferred).
  • Anticipated bar exam candidates (2025) will be considered.
