A law firm seeks a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Athens, GA. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to handle a variety of civil litigation cases, with a focus on insurance defense. This role involves gaining hands-on experience in personal injury, automobile accidents, premises liability, product liability, and civil litigation matters.

Duties:

  • Assist with all aspects of civil litigation, including trials, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Manage motion practice, legal research, and drafting of evaluation reports.
  • Participate in mediations and assist in negotiations.
  • Prepare legal documents, motions, and pleadings.
  • Handle discovery and case management.
  • Provide regular updates and collaborate with senior attorneys.
  • Ensure compliance with all deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar.
  • Experience in the fields of personal injury, automobile accidents, premises liability, product liability, property damage, civil litigation, and appeals is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, drafting, and legal writing abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in civil litigation or insurance defense is preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
