Intellectual Property Associate

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking two highly skilled Intellectual Property associates to join its Washington, D.C. office. The firm is looking for candidates with 2 to 6 years of experience and a technical background in electrical/computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field. While patent litigation experience is preferred, the ideal candidates will have superior academic credentials, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Location:

• Washington, D.C.

Duties:

• Represent clients in high-stakes patent litigation cases.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to develop litigation strategies.
• Provide expert legal advice on intellectual property matters, including patent law.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including briefs, motions, and other court filings.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on intellectual property issues.
• Work on both pre-litigation matters and ongoing litigation cases.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing regular updates and counsel.
• Assist in preparing and presenting cases in court, including depositions and hearings.

Requirements:

• 2 to 6 years of experience in Intellectual Property law, with a focus on patent litigation.
• Background in electrical/computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a similar technical field.
• Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
• Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Admission to the bar in Washington, D.C. (or eligibility to gain admission).

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in Washington, D.C. (or eligibility to be admitted).

Skills:
