Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Connecticut-barred Litigation Attorney to join its team in a hybrid position based out of New York. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in diverse fields of litigation, including general liability and professional liability matters. The role involves managing cases through all phases of litigation in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Location:

• New York City, NY

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery and/or trial.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluations, court orders, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.
• Review and summarize discovery responses, depositions, and litigation updates.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Maintain close communication with clients, providing legal analysis, status updates, and advice throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• Experience in civil litigation.
• Bar admission in Connecticut.
• Proficiency in drafting discovery, taking lead on depositions, and arguing motions.
• Strong writing and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Connecticut.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Lexis software for legal research.
• Strong legal writing and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
