Litigation Attorney Foreclosure and Real Estate

A law firm seeks a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join its practice in Syosset, NY. The firm specializes in representing lenders and creditors in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and litigation, along with real estate transactions including REO and short sale closings. This role involves a strong focus on courtroom appearances and case management while providing opportunities for professional development in a dynamic legal environment.

Duties

• Represent clients in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and litigation matters.
• Attend mandatory settlement conferences, motion hearings, and status updates in court.
• Manage and prepare case files for legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal counsel to clients on real estate transactions, including short sales and REO closings.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in foreclosure or related legal areas.
• Familiarity with legal tools such as Black Knight (LPS) or Tempo is a plus.
• Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the New York State Bar and in good standing.

Skills

• Expertise in foreclosure and real estate law.
• Proficient in legal research and drafting motions and other court documents.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
