A law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding academic credentials, and strong research, writing, and analytical skills. This role involves handling a range of civil litigation matters, with a focus on bankruptcy and creditors' rights. Clerkship and/or prior law firm experience is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases.
  • Handle creditors' rights matters, including debt collection, enforcement of judgments, and foreclosure actions.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and provide comprehensive analyses on bankruptcy and creditors' rights issues.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to develop and execute legal strategies.
  • Manage and execute discovery processes, including gathering and reviewing evidence.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and case law.
  • Provide exceptional client service and maintain professional relationships.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in bankruptcy and creditors' rights law.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and manage multiple cases.
  • Clerkship and/or prior law firm experience preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction’s Bar (e.g., Maryland Bar).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to and in good standing with the Maryland Bar (or the relevant jurisdiction’s Bar).
