Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney specializing in EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) cases. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in representing clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Court, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
  • Prepare defensive immigration applications, including I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), and PD requests
  • Review and prepare immigration applications and USCIS filings, including I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa petitions
  • Meet with clients to assess their cases, develop strategies, and provide legal analysis
  • Lead and manage a team of paralegals to ensure cases meet customer service expectations and deadlines
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Immigration Law, specifically EOIR
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
  • Experience in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR proceedings, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in good standing

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and capable of handling sensitive client information with professionalism
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
