A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Property Casualty Attorney to join its growing practice in Austin, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with at least 3 years of experience in property-casualty, 1st party property claims, or civil litigation. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a supportive, dynamic environment while handling a variety of complex cases. Duties:

  • Manage and litigate 1st party property claims and property casualty cases in both state and federal courts.
  • Lead and supervise junior staff members, providing mentorship and support in case management.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and motions practice.
  • Draft petitions, complaints, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare cases for trial, ensuring readiness at each phase of the litigation process.
  • Play a key role in shaping the firm's growing practice and contribute to the development of its business strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys to provide high-quality client representation.
  • Take initiative in managing a caseload and ensuring client satisfaction through diligent legal representation.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Property Casualty, 1st Party Property, or Civil Litigation.
  • Proven experience in managing cases in state and federal courts.
  • Strong ability to supervise and mentor junior staff members.
  • Excellent skills in discovery management, taking and defending depositions, and drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to prepare and present cases for trial with little supervision.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Preference for attorneys based in Houston, though not required.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in the State of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of property casualty law, particularly 1st party property claims.
  • Excellent litigation, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal cases with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
