A law firm in Richmond, VA is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-6 years of experience to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload independently, demonstrate strong research and writing skills, and possess excellent academic credentials. Clerkship experience is preferred, and experience in class action and consumer financial services litigation is advantageous.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Manage discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in trials as needed.
  • Handle day-to-day case management responsibilities, including deadlines and court appearances.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • Membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.
  • Admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
  • Strong preference for candidates with clerkship experience.
  • Experience in class action and consumer financial services litigation is a plus.
  • Excellent academic record from an accredited law school.
