Commercial Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced commercial litigator to join its boutique practice in Philadelphia, PA. The firm specializes in community association and construction law, representing homeowners’ associations (HOAs), condominium associations, cooperatives, and clients involved in construction-related disputes. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex litigation cases and collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals in a growing and specialized legal field.

Duties

• Represent clients throughout all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, mediation, arbitration, trials, judgment enforcement, and appeals.
• Oversee a diverse caseload focusing on disputes involving community associations and construction law.
• Provide risk management and pre-litigation guidance to community association boards and property managers.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses, contractors, and engineers in construction defect cases.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct depositions, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court and alternative dispute resolution forums.
• Stay informed on laws and regulations impacting community associations and the construction industry.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering strategic and practical legal advice.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, particularly in community association law, construction defect cases, or real estate disputes.
• Comprehensive understanding of state and federal laws governing construction defects, contract disputes, and community associations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Proven success in trial and appellate advocacy.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills for working with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active law license in Pennsylvania and in good standing with the state bar.

• Expertise in handling complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Familiarity with governing documents for community associations, such as covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience representing community associations or related entities.
