Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm in New York City is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its legal team. The role involves complex tax matters, including corporate, partnership, and international tax law. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and support on corporate, partnership, and international tax matters.
  • Assist clients with tax planning and tax structuring for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
  • Research and draft memoranda on a variety of tax issues for clients in various industries.
  • Review tax returns, and compliance documents, and ensure adherence to applicable tax laws.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams and advise on tax aspects of broader legal transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation and case law.
  • Represent clients in federal and state tax audits, disputes, and negotiations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in tax law, preferably with exposure to corporate, partnership, and international tax.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Prior experience with federal and state tax matters is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in tax research and drafting legal memoranda.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
