Duties

• Represent clients in maritime law cases, including disputes involving maritime accidents, cargo damage, and insurance claims.
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence, including on-site visits when necessary.
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents within deadlines.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, and client meetings.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies such as the U.S. Coast Guard and port authorities.
• Engage in research to resolve complex legal issues.
• Manage a diverse caseload involving maritime disputes, product liability, construction litigation, and more.

Requirements

• Admission to the Maryland Bar (additional admissions in DC, PA, or VA are advantageous).
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in maritime law and insurance defense.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
• Background in handling cases related to professional liability, construction litigation, property damage, and transportation disputes.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Maryland.
