A law firm in Seattle is seeking a Trademark Associate Attorney (Clearance and Prosecution) to join their team and work on cutting-edge trademark issues for name-brand clients. The attorney will be responsible for managing U.S. and international trademark portfolios, with a focus on trademark clearance, prosecution, and investigations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of direct trademark experience and possess strong academic credentials, excellent legal writing skills, and critical thinking skills. The successful candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct U.S. and international trademark clearance searches to assess the availability of marks.
  • Handle all aspects of trademark prosecution, including preparing and filing applications, responding to office actions, and managing deadlines.
  • Conduct investigations related to potential trademark infringements and provide legal recommendations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including cease and desist letters, licensing agreements, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement trademark strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in which the candidate will be practicing.
  • Minimum of 4 years of direct trademark experience with a focus on clearance, prosecution, and enforcement.
  • Experience in managing U.S. and international trademark portfolios.
