A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Attorney licensed to practice law in California with significant experience in employment law matters, including wage and hour, PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act), and FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in employment litigation, including trial and mediation, and will be responsible for managing cases, conducting client interactions, and handling all aspects of litigation from discovery to trial.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct substantive witness interviews and client consultations in employment law matters.
  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Regularly appear in court and defend motions related to employment litigation.
  • Lead case management efforts, ensuring adherence to deadlines and strategic objectives.
  • Draft dispositive motions, including demurrers, anti-SLAPP motions, motions for judgment, and motions for summary judgment.
  • Represent clients in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to provide updates on case status and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing law with a focus on employment law, including wage and hour, PAGA, and FLSA cases.
  • Proven experience in employment litigation, including first or second chair trial experience.
  • Strong analytical and legal research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
  • Experience in the public sector is advantageous but not required.
