Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a Technology Transactions Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join its San Francisco office. The role involves advising clients on a range of technology transactions and intellectual property matters, including licensing, e-commerce, and collaboration agreements. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with a strong technical background and an interest in artificial intelligence or emerging technologies.

Location

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate agreements for software, technology, and content licenses.
  • Handle software and technology development agreements, as well as professional services contracts.
  • Negotiate manufacturing, collaboration, supply, and distribution agreements.
  • Work on e-commerce, media, and entertainment transactions.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and equity financing transactions, including drafting transaction agreements and conducting due diligence on contract and intellectual property matters.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in technology transactions and intellectual property matters.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across various technology-related agreements.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property law and commercial law principles.
  • Interest or experience in artificial intelligence is a plus.
  • Membership in the California Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.

Skills

  • Ability to communicate complex matters clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong work ethic and leadership capabilities.
  • Technical background preferred, such as a degree in science or experience with computer programming.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage.
  • Parental leave, adoption, and fertility treatment benefits.
  • Backup child and elder care options.
  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
  • 401(k) or Roth 401(k) plans.
  • Access to wellness programs, including health care advocates, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Talkspace, and Calm.
  • Flexible time away and reduced schedule arrangements.
  • Paid primary state bar registration fees and membership in up to two professional associations.
  • Dedicated pro bono counsel for assistance with pro bono work.
  • Matching gift programs for law school and charitable donations.

Although the San Francisco office of this full-service, multi-national juggernaut is known primarily for its large Litigation department, its Business department is growing and, in fact, includes an outstanding International Transactions practice. Despite its size and impressive stature within the legal community, insiders claim the firm maintains a ?small firm? culture ? associates are neither competitive nor pretentious and the firm itself is notoriously not hierarchical. Salaries are competitive (although associates complain the firm will never be the first to raise salaries), and billable hour pressure is manageable.
