Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate to join a dynamic team in Providence, RI. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2-5 years of experience in litigation who is looking to advance their career in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role involves handling challenging matters while working closely with senior attorneys to provide excellent service to clients.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda and briefs for complex cases.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests and manage discovery disputes.
• Represent clients in federal and state courts, understanding the rules and procedures applicable to each.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop case strategies and solve legal problems.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing timely updates and legal advice.
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining high-quality work products.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on substantive legal topics and best practices in litigation.
• Participate in various litigation-related tasks, contributing to all aspects of case management from inception to resolution.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Rhode Island; Connecticut and/or Massachusetts licensure is a plus.
• 2-5 years of experience in litigation, with a solid understanding of federal and state court rules.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research, draft legal documents, and handle complex discovery issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with attorneys and clients.
• Superior problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Rhode Island Bar (required).
• Admission to the Connecticut and/or Massachusetts Bar (preferred).
