Associate Attorney needed for Baton Rouge office

Job Overview:

This role involves legal representation, legal research, drafting motions and pleadings, and collaborating with senior attorneys. Location:

• Baton Rouge, LA

Duties:

• Provide legal representation and advice to clients charged with crimes.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and other court filings with precision.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies and legal arguments.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case preparation, strategy development, and overall case management.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of case files and client communications within the firm’s legal framework.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to criminal defense and related practice areas.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in Louisiana or eligibility for admission.
• Previous experience in a law office setting preferred, but internships or clerkships will be considered.
• Strong writing skills with experience in legal drafting across various practice areas.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct legal research effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana (or eligibility for admission).
