A law firm seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join their Roseland, NJ office in the Healthcare Defense practice. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in medical malpractice, healthcare, or long-term care cases. This role presents the opportunity to work within a collaborative and dynamic legal team specializing in the defense of medical malpractice and related cases, including long-term care and disciplinary actions.

Duties

  • Represent clients in medical malpractice defense cases, including practitioners, hospitals, and long-term care providers.
  • Assist in defending disciplinary actions related to healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums to support case strategies.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and trials to represent clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in developing case strategies and preparing for trials.
  • Maintain and manage a caseload with attention to deadlines and details.
  • Guide clients regarding legal rights, obligations, and strategies related to healthcare and medical malpractice.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in medical malpractice defense, healthcare, or long-term care cases.
  • Strong background in legal research, writing, and litigation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, witnesses, and court officials.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team while managing independent caseloads.
  • Self-motivated and committed to professional development.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (required).
