Job Overview: A law firm specializing in insurance coverage seeks a motivated Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in New York City. The role involves providing comprehensive coverage opinions, litigating declaratory judgment and bad faith actions across multiple jurisdictions, and delivering extensive insurance coverage services to diverse clients.

Job Duties:

• Draft coverage opinions and memoranda analyzing insurance policy language and coverage issues.
• Review and assess claim documents, policy language, and coverage disputes.
• Handle declaratory judgment and bad faith litigation from inception through trial.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs, manage discovery, and conduct depositions.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing on complex coverage matters.
• Update policy language and provide proactive coverage advice to clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing is required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in insurance coverage matters and prosecuting declaratory judgment actions.
• Experience with various insurance policies, including professional liability (D&O, errors and omissions), commercial general liability, and property policies.
• Familiarity with handling both state and federal court proceedings.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
