Job Overview
A fast-growing boutique law firm in Midtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Divorce and Family Law Litigation team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in family and matrimonial law and will be skilled in motion practice, court appearances, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations. This role offers the opportunity for hands-on litigation experience with a focus on high-value cases, providing a supportive and collaborative work environment with room for growth.

Location

Duties

  • Represent clients in all aspects of family law litigation, including divorce, child custody, parenting plans, support matters, and equitable distribution
  • Negotiate and draft prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
  • Manage cases from inception to resolution, including client intake, discovery, negotiation, motion practice, hearings, and trials
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, affidavits, pleadings, and settlement agreements
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy
  • Appear in Supreme Court and Family Court (both in-person and virtually)
  • Work collaboratively with the legal team to develop firm policies, systems, and procedures

Requirements

  • Licensed in New York with experience in family and matrimonial law
  • Strong legal writing, research, and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Familiarity with New York State Supreme and Family Court systems (NYSCEF/EDDS filing)
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle high-conflict situations professionally
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative yet autonomous environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar
