Duties:

  • Advise clients and develop strategies for a successful outcome.
  • Prepare legal documents such as briefs, motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in court, arguing motions during legal proceedings.
  • Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and devise case strategies.
  • Manage a docket of cases and stay proactive with pre-litigation and litigation files.
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, trial prep, trials, and hearings.
  • Handle motions and discovery processes.
  • Negotiate with insurance adjusters and defense attorneys.
  • Draft motions, petitions, and other legal documents.
  • Report on case pipeline and track quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with and manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks.

Requirements:

  • An active member of the local bar association (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a law firm.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple files.
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • At least 2 years of client representation experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills and a desire to mentor others.
  • Litigation and trial experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and task prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical, legal writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and perform well under pressure.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
  • In good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong decision-making and public speaking abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven litigation and trial experience.
