Junior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney

A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Junior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will possess superior analytical skills, strong academic credentials, and excellent oral, writing, and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be an active Bar member in the jurisdiction.

Duties:

• Assist with trademark clearance, registration, maintenance, and enforcement matters.
• Conduct comprehensive trademark searches and provide detailed analysis on availability and registrability.
• Draft and prosecute trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign trademark offices.
• Manage trademark portfolios and coordinate with international associates on global trademark issues.
• Prepare and respond to office actions and other correspondences with the USPTO.
• Conduct and oversee trademark due diligence in connection with corporate transactions.
• Handle trademark opposition, cancellation, and other administrative proceedings.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on trademark protection and enforcement strategies.
• Draft and negotiate trademark-related agreements, including coexistence agreements, licensing agreements, and settlement agreements.
• Stay current on trademark law developments and provide updates to clients and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar membership in the jurisdiction (Washington, DC).
• 1-3 years of experience in trademark law.
• Superior analytical skills.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:
