Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in White Plains, NY, seeks a skilled Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Medical and Life Sciences team. The role involves handling general and premises liability cases, as well as product liability defense, with cases spanning New York, New Jersey, and federal courts.

Duties:

• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Perform legal, medical, and scientific research to support case strategies.
• Draft significant legal documents, including memoranda, briefs, motions (e.g., summary judgment), pleadings, and discovery materials.
• Prepare detailed reports for clients, including deposition summaries, medical record analyses, case assessments, and valuations.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses to prepare cases.
• Participate in trial, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) preparations.
• Represent clients during courtroom appearances, including motion arguments and discovery conferences.

Requirements:

• 6-10 years of first-chair deposition and courtroom experience in general/premises liability or product liability cases.
• Strong familiarity with New York courts; admission in New Jersey is a plus.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrated commitment to innovation, independence, and professionalism.

Education:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar is mandatory.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is advantageous.
