Senior Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of criminal defense experience and will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney. They will manage their caseload, advise clients on legal matters, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team. Fluency in Spanish is required.

Job Duties:

• Manage caseload and client interaction.
• Collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team.
• Advise clients on legal rights and draw up legal documents.
• Attend pretrial hearings and advise clients on strategies.
• Manage court appearances, trials, and legal research.
• Analyze probable case outcomes using legal precedents.
• Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits.
• Accrue additional evidence to support cases.
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses.
• Handle complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Contribute as a team player and assist fellow associates.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of Criminal Defense Experience.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
• Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
