A law firm in Waukesha, WI, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to manage worker's compensation and civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation and familiarity with family law and employment law. This role involves representing clients before Wisconsin administrative agencies and in trial and appellate courts.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in worker's compensation cases before Wisconsin administrative agencies, as well as in trial and appellate courts.
  • Handle a diverse caseload involving civil litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for and participating in trials.
  • Provide legal representation and advice in family law matters, such as divorce, child custody, and support.
  • Address employment law issues, including wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage disputes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents including briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Develop case strategies, offer legal counsel, and guide clients through complex legal processes.
  • Represent clients effectively in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Stay current with developments in relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and client service.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Wisconsin Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in worker's compensation and civil litigation.
  • Experience in family law and employment law is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Wisconsin administrative and court procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
