A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Associate Attorney specializing in Tax to join their Washington, DC office. The candidate will be working on cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams, addressing intricate U.S. federal income tax matters. This role requires excellent academic credentials and strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Collaborate with cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams.
  • Provide expert legal counsel on U.S. federal income tax matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate tax-related documents and agreements.
  • Advise clients on tax implications of various corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and capital market transactions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on tax issues.
  • Represent clients in tax audits, disputes, and litigation.
  • Stay current with developments in federal income tax law and regulations.
  • Participate in business development and client relationship management.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of law firm experience in U.S. federal income tax matters.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Bar in the state of Washington, DC or eligible for admission.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Washington, DC State Bar (or eligibility for reciprocity).

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal income tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
