Job Title: Patent Agent (Electrical Engineering)

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled Patent Agent with expertise in electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in patent prosecution, particularly in advanced technologies such as 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, and wireless communications. Duties:

  • Collaborate with inventors, researchers, and attorneys to evaluate invention technology and assess patentability.
  • Draft and file patent applications with the USPTO.
  • Respond to USPTO actions and office actions as part of patent prosecution.
  • Manage client portfolios and assist in patent strategy development.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies such as 5G, AI, image processing, and RF front-end.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Strong background in electrical engineering, including expertise in 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) or eligible to register.
  • Proven ability to work with clients and contribute to patent portfolio management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

Certifications:

  • USPTO registration or eligibility for registration.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of patent law and patent prosecution procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with advanced technologies such as AI, robotics, and wireless communications.
